Then one very unexpected day came when Neal and I found out we were expecting! We couldn't believe it! We sat together on the bathroom counter just looking at each other, asking what the Lord was doing, and praying. Such a precious blessing, but one we had not anticipated, although our hearts desired to be parents one day soon. How wonderful!
Baby Bond is due to arrive on August 27th!
I couldn't believe I was already three months pregnant! The doctor laughed when we told him we didn't think we were very far along. It was the most precious thing hearing the heartbeat and seeing our sweet little baby! We could see the head, which already had the eyes, nose, mouth and little fist stuck in the mouth. Our hearts just soared with thoughts of the little life inside of me. How amazing is God's prevailing purposes!
We sought the Lord much during the next two to three weeks asking for wisdom with timing of moving to India. The Lord confirmed to us through various ways, one being our friends that the wisest thing to do was to have the baby here where things are familiar and then move when the baby is old enough to travel. We hope Baby Bond will be ready to travel when he/she is a couple to a few months old.
With the few months added onto our stay here in Alabama we both thought it would be better to move into an apartment and find jobs that could support us and the baby until we leave. The Lord was so sweet to give us an apartment right between both sets of parents, and to give both of us jobs. Neal is doing maintenance at an apartment complex that's owned by the same place as the one we live in, and I'm an assistant teacher at a Christian Academy.
One of the scriptures we have been praying over the baby is one that was spoken of Jesus when he was young. "And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men." (Luke 2:52) That is our prayer Lord of little Baby Bond.
